The Bulldog football team held their end-of-the-season awards night Tuesday featuring an ice cream social. Over 350 attended the celebration of the team’s 8-2 season.
Numerous academic awards were handed out including three perfect 4.0’s in Reed Krause, Caden Dewall and Travis Voigt.
Wide Receiver Carter Hietala gave a great players speech on what Becker football has meant to him throughout his career.
The most dedicated award went to Zack Wenner.
Anne Koste, mother of senior Cole, presented a video tribute recapping the season through photos. Several moms of the players contributed by shooting tremendous images at all road and home games. Anne was also nominated as fan of the year.
With Becker’s 8-2 record, it was noted they out scored their opponents 277 - 74.
The “monster man” award for leading defensive scorer went to junior linebacker Caden Dewall.
The distinguished service award went to trainer Heather Sunde.
The team’s MVP’s were Josh Fobbe and Carter Hietala (vote was a tie).
All District went to eight players including Fobbe, DE Riley Morrell, LB Dewall, LB Thomas Halvorson, LB Brayden Weber, LB Teddy Halvorson, NG Travis Voigt and WR Carter Hietala.
The MVP’s for the team as voted on by the district coaches were Fobbe, Weber and Hietala.
Captains for 2020 were named and they include Teddy amd Thomas Halvorson, Brayden Weber and Caden Dewall.
