The Eagles hockey team continued their busy December schedule, losing three recent contests.
They were beaten by the Luverne Cardinals in the opening round of the Herb Brooks Classic in Blaine Thursday, 5-1.
Earlier in the schedule, they dropped a 5-2 decision to Chisago Lakes in Missisippi 8 Conference play - at Princeton, and at Monticello, 11-2.
The Eagles spotted the Luverne team a goal in the first and second periods, then with 7:20 remaining in the second period, Tyler Schmitt of B-BL scored with an assist from Jadeo Keo.
Luverne popped three more shots into the net in the final period for the 5-1 win.
Chisago Lakes took a 5-2 win over the Eagles on the Princeton rink, but it was a pretty close contest.
Senior Jaden Keo knocked in a rebound from Junior Jacob Bahe 36 seconds into the first period - and B-BL was celebrating with a jam-packed crowd and the BHS pep band shouting in glee.
The arena was jumping, but the Wildcats took control from there, putting three shots into the net to end the first period ahead, 3-1.
The Eagles got back to within 3-2 56 seconds into the third period on a goal by Junior Forward Tyler Schmitt on a power play.
Chisago Lakes took control from there, scoring two more times for the final 5-2 win.
It was a clean game; the Eagles took only two minor and one major penalty.
Junior Goalie Alec Anderson faced 36 shots.
The Eagles JV earlier that day played Chisago Lakes, losing 4-0.
Last week, the Eagles travelled to Monticello where they lost a conference game, 11-2.
This weekend, the Eagles are up against Faribault in the second round of the Herb Brooks Classic.
They were to play Minnetonka Friday and Cambridge-Isanti Saturday.
Their next action is at Princeton against the Tigers in a conference game next Saturday.
