Eagles Drop 2 Games During The Week

The Eagles hockey team continues to look for elusive victories, dropping two more contests during the past week. Monday, they fell to Cambridge-Isanti by a 5-2 score after losing to Breckenridge-Wahpeton, 6-3 over the weekend.

C-I had a balanced scoring attack, breaking out from a 2-1 first period advantage to lead 3-2 after two periods, then tacking on two more goals in the last period.

Schmitt scored the lone Eagle first period goal, assisted by Rupar and Polencec. Schmitt also got the second period goal, assisted by Rupar and Ruppelius.

Anderson saved 20 shots on goal for the Eagles; Gibb had 42 saves for C-I.

The Eagles were tied with Breckenridge-Wahpeton after a period, 1-1, courtesy of a goal by Schmitt, assisted by Ruppelius and and Mihelich.

They went ahead, 2-1 at 1:10 odf the second on a score by Beckstrom, assisted by Ruper. They added their third goal shortly thereafter on a score by Barzee, assisted by Beckstrom and Lindenau.

But that was when B-W turned the tables, scoring three second period goals to take a 4-3 lead, then addeing two more third period scores to win, 6-3.

Reasoner had 25 saves for Becker-Big Lake; Wamre had 38 saves for B-W.
