The Becker/Big Lake hockey team went on the road last Saturday and finished their regular season on a high note with a 3-2 victory over Bagley/Fosston.
The teams traded goals midway through the first period to open up the scoring. The Flyers took a 1-0 lead, but Carter Tatge evened things up just two minutes later. Bagley/Fosston scored once more in the period to take a 2-1 advantage into the break.
Early in the second, Hayden Kipka found the back of the net to bring the game back to a tie. Later in the period, Raymond Clark scored a powerplay goal that gave the Eagles the lead for good. The two teams played a scoreless third, with Eagle goaltender Elliott Grafnitz stopping all nine shots he faced in the period. Tanner Felton had two assists and Owen Zahler, Gunnar Hanson, and Tatge all had one.
Vs. Northern Edge
Last Thursday the team lost 2-1 to Northern Edge in their final home game of the season. The game stayed scoreless for the first 33 minutes and 44 seconds before Northern Edge scored to take a 1-0 lead at the end of the second period.
