Dragons take down Eagles

The Becker/Big Lake hockey team lost 7-1 in Pine City last Friday night in a penalty-filled contest. The two teams combined for 13 penalties, with six coming in the first period alone.

The home team started their scoring early as they found the back of the next just over a minute into the game. But after the Dragons extended their lead to two goals, the Eagles responded with a goal to cut the lead back down to one.

Ethan Grafnitz scored a power play goal off assists from Tate Spilde and Brant Rusin.

That would be all the Eagles could muster as Pine City quickly extended their lead to 5-1 by the end of the period.

The team will now face Princeton on Thursday, then travel to face Prairie Centre on Friday. Early next week will feature a matchup against Cambridge-Isanti.
