In week five of the 2018 Minnesota high school football season, a Minnesota high school head coach achieved a milestone win in his coaching career:
Matt Lundeen, Redwood Valley nabbed his 100th career win.
Lundeen won his 100th career game Fri., Sept. 28 with a 16-14 overtime win over Pipestone Area in a South Central - White Sub-District game played in Redwood Falls. With the week five win, Lundeen’s career record was 100-101 (now 101-101 with a week six win) in 21 seasons as a head coach, all at Redwood Valley.
Lundeen has led the Redwood Valley Cardinals to two State Football Tournament appearances (2003, 2004). He is a graduate of Bethel College in St. Paul and is a sixth grade teacher. He is married and has three kids. He is the son of Dwight and Pam Lundeen of Becker.
The Minnesota Football Coaches Association congratulates Matt Lundeen on this tremendous career accomplishment. He is an outstanding “Keeper of the Game”.
