C.I.S Robotics Is Launching Into Their Season

Becker C.I.S. Robotics is getting prepared and excited for an eventful season and competition this year.

The head coaches for the robotics team are Maggie Maine and Alex Jurek, who are assisted by 20 other mentors, which includes C.I.S Alumni.

The directors this year are as follows: Grace Welinski (Senior) who is the Director of Logistics and Business/Finance, Gavin Murphy (Junior) who is the Director of Marketing/Branding and Media, Jordan Gruenes (Junior) who is the Director of Strategy/Scouting, Mitchell Sakry (Junior) who is the Director or Safety/STEP/Equipment/Training/Pit, Ben Fischbach (Junior) who is the Director of Engineering/Fabrication and Strategy/Scouting,  Devon Schlangen (Junior) who is the Director of Engineering/Fabrication and Programming/Electrical, and Dylan Cheney, who is the Director of Programming/Electrical.

The directors are looking forward to giving opportunities to the rookie students, seeing innovation happen throughout the team, competing at competitions, trying out a new drivetrain, helping students make good decisions and seeing new ideas.

Joining them are 46 other participants, who work in any of the eight departments with the directors.  C.I.S.’s goals this year are to win The Chairman’s Award, The Engineering Inspiration Award, as well as winning in one of their two regionals.  The team also strives to show that robotics is not all about robots throughout their season and to lead students to a better future.

C.I.S has been busy with pre-season events, but is looking forward to competing this year for FIRST Robotics and spreading the message of FIRST.  Their next event will be JUMPSTART this Saturday at Saint Cloud State University.
