Changamire notches 1,000th in Bulldog win

The Becker girls basketball team strengthened its hold on second place in the M8 Conference last Thursday with an 84-51 win over the Zimmerman Thunder.  During the game, Becker star Adele Changamire earned a huge milestone, scoring her 1,000th career point for the Bulldogs.

“The highlight of the night was Alyssa Kinney delivering a perfect pass to Adele Changamire as she scored her 1000th point,” Coach Dan Baird said.  “The play is called 4 - Low and they executed it perfectly.”

Becker opened up a 46-31 lead at halftime and in the second stanza, the entire roster saw action on the court en route to the victory.

Adele’s stat line was stellar, as the sophomore scored 24 points and added five rebounds and seven assists in the contest.

Andie Changamire was also solid in the game, scoring 23 points, and grabbing nine rebounds while dishing out seven assists.

“It was a fun night all around as the program celebrated and was able to honor one of their captains (Adele) and her big milestone,” Baird added.

With the win, Becker moved to 9-2 in the M8 Conference.

Vs. Vikings

Tuesday night, Becker dominated the North Branch Vikings, 65-22.

Becker jumped to a 36-13 lead at the intermission, as the Vikings were held scoreless all night from beyond the arc.

The Bulldogs’ Andie Changamire was stellar in the opening half, scoring 17 points en route to a game high 24.  Alyse Denne added 12 points, while Adele Changamire had 10 and Tess Brown chipped in nine.
