Becker boys baseball team played two games this past week and lost both to fall to 6-11 to end the regular season.
Cambridge-Isanti 11, Becker 10
The Bulldogs traveled to Cambridge-Isanti last Friday and lost a heartbreaker, 11-10 on a walk-off hit in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The game was tied at 10 with Cambridge-Isanti batting in the bottom of the inning. Connor Braaten stepped to the plate with men on base and singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring the winning run.
Becker’s Kreeden Blomquist collected five hits in the defeat. Blomquist singled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fifth, doubled in the sixth, and singled in the seventh.
Becker put up four runs in the third inning and were led by Weston Schug, Zack Wenner, Matthew Krenz, and Matthew Moe, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Moe started on the mound for Becker and he allowed 16 hits and seven runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking one. Schug threw one and one-third innings out of the bullpen.
Becker knocked the ball all over the park, finishing with 20 hits. Blomquist, Wenner, Noah Mohs, Dalton Fouquette and James Schafer each racked up multiple hits for the visiting club.
Albany 8, Becker 1
The Bulldogs hosted the Huskies Tuesday and lost by seven.
The Bulldogs struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Albany, giving up eight runs on 12 hits.
Schug took the loss for Becker, going five innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.
Matthew Krenz went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bulldogs in hits.
