Bulldogs Lose 2 To Fall 2 Games Under .500

The Becker boys basketball team continued their late season slide as they dropped two games this week to fall to 8-10.

After an extremely slow start against Cambridge-Isanti last Friday, the Bulldogs outscored the  Bluejackets in the final frame, but the deficit was too large to overcome.

Henry Abraham was unstoppable as he poured in 30 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals in the win.

Becker’s top scorers were Josh Fobbe and Eric Seavert, who each tallied 10 points.

Becker scoring: Fobbe 10, Seavert 10, Nick Knute 9, Cade Callahan 8, Carter Hietala, Cole Koste 5, Carter Callahan 4, Cam Fischer 3, Nick Mittelstaedt 3, Brady Paumen 2.

Cambridge scoring: Abraham 30, Paul Swanson 19, Micah Ladd 18, Hunter Melander 13, Ryan Cox 4, Braden Jones 3. 

Rocori 66, Becker 44

Monday, Becker hosted Rocori and lost by 22.

The Spartans had four double-digit scorers and were led by Tucker Haakonson who had 19. He was aided by Jayden Philippi (14), Brett Sowada (12) and Andrew Anderson (10).

Becker got 16 from Knute and 10 from Cade Callahan in the loss.

Becker scoring: Knute 16, Cade Callahan 10, Hietala 9, Fobbe 3, Seavert 3, Mittelstaedt 2, Jeremy Laugen 1.

Rocori scoring: Haakonson 19, Philippi 14, Sowada 12, Anderson 10, Camdyn Bauer 4, Jack Steil 4, Luke Humbert 3.

The Bulldogs played at St. Francis Friday (full report on game in next week’s Citizen-Tribune). They then hit the road for Chisago Lakes Tuesday before returning home Friday for a game against North Branch.
