The Becker Bulldog baseball team continues to battle the weather, with the result being five games this upcoming week.
Becker will face Chisago Lakes on Monday in a rescheduled affair, while they also added a game for Thursday against Sauk Rapids which will result in a team split-team doubleheader.
Last Friday, Becker downed Foley 6-4 to push its winning streak to six games.
Becker scored three in the top of the first inning courtesy of an Isaac Daluge two-RBI double and a Riley Girard RBI single. But Foley came right back with three of its own runs in the bottom of the first.
Becker added a pair of runs in the third inning and then one in the seventh as insurance against the Falcons’ comeback bid.
Daluge and Girard both had two hits in the game, as the Bulldogs managed just five overall, while the Falcons had four. Becker committed two errors in the game and Foley had three.
Gerad Hanle picked up the victory for the Dogs on the mound, as the lefty worked five innings, scattering just three hits and striking out nine batters. Isaac Guck worked the final two innings to pick up the save.
Spartans
Monday night, Becker hosted the Rocori Spartans and came out flat, losing 16-2. Becker gave up eight runs in the top of the first, as the Spartans put on a hitting display early and the Bulldogs couldn’t find the handle, committing seven errors.
Hunter Pietrowski started on the mound, while Ethyn Cantin came on in relief and struck out four batters and was victimized with three unearned runs.
Trenton Paulson finished up duties on the mound, as the Bulldogs fell in the game shortened due to the ten run rule.
Becker managed seven hits to the Spartans’ 10, but Becker pitchers walked an additional five batters.
Hanle and Daluge each had two hits to lead Becker.
Thursday night, Becker was slated to host Monticello in the annual Strikeout Cancer game, while the Bulldogs were in Zimmerman on Friday night.
