The Hwy. 10 rivalry was front and center last Thursday evening under the lights as the Becker Bulldogs hosted the Big Lake Hornets in a Mississippi 8 Conference baseball game.
The Hornets took advantage of a Bulldog error and also had four hits and a walk to take a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Becker battled back with three runs in the third inning, and two in the fourth before Gerad Hanle scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning via a wild pitch for the walk-off win.
Vs. Wolves
Friday, Becker went on the road and picked up a 10-7 win over Milaca.
Becker again fell behind early, this time yielding four runs to the Wolves in the bottom of the second inning. But the Bulldogs used a big fifth inning, scoring seven, to put the game out of reach.
Vs. Bluejackets
Tuesday night, Becker ran its win streak to five games with a 4-3 win over Cambridge-Isanti. Knudsen called the win perhaps his team’s most complete victory, as his team played a full seven innings of very good baseball.
