The Becker boys basketball team scored its first win of the season Thursday night as the team went on the road and came home with a 56-37 win over the Dassel-Cokato Chargers.
Gabe Lindbom scored 12 points for the Bulldogs, chipping in six points in each half.
Nick Mittelstaedt also had a good game for Becker with 6 points, 7 rebounds and he also drew a charge.
The Bulldogs were scheduled to host Zimmerman last night (December 13) and have another home game scheduled for Thursday night against Annandale.
Waconia 81, Becker 48
Last Thursday, the Bulldogs dropped a road contest to the Wildcats.
“Waconia is a more seasoned team than we are and a top ten state ranked team,” said Ihrke. “We just didn’t execute as well as they did.”
Nick Mittelstaedt led the Bulldogs in scoring with 10 points, including a 7-for-8 performance from the free throw line. Nick Knute chipped in 8 points and Cole Koste had 7 points. As a team the Bulldogs showed some success from the three-point line, as they hit six shots from beyond the arc in the game. Cade Callahan had a nice game on the boards, leading the Bulldogs with 8 rebounds.
As a team, the Bulldogs shot a respectable 77% from the free throw line and were able to muster 10 offensive rebounds against the much bigger Wildcats.
