Bulldogs chew up Tigers, 49-6

Isaac Daluge had two scores and the Becker Bulldog football team improved to 5-0 with a whipping of the host Hutchinson Tigers by the score of 49-6 last Friday evening.

Becker scored three times in the first quarter then four times in the third to run away with the win.

The game started off with Becker RB Landen Kujawa scoring on a four-yard run. Moments later, Daluge fielded a Hutchinson punt and rambled 67 yards to paydirt to put the visitors up by two scores.

The Tigers may have felt they were climbing back in the game when in the second quarter they garnered their own TD from four yards out to cut it to 14-6. They attempted a two-point conversion and that was as close as they’d get to the end zone the rest of the way.

Later in the first, Daluge scored again — this time on a seven-yard pass from QB Sawyer Brown to put the Dogs up 21-6 at halftime.

In the third, Kujawa tallied his second score when he crossed the goal line from seven yards out. The Bulldogs decided to go for two and Matt Warhol reeled in a pass from Brown for the successful two-pointer.

The barrage continued when Mitchell Soltau scored from 31 yards out on a pass from Tristan Kowalkowski and the Bulldogs had a comfortable, 36-6 lead.

Carter Reckelberg got into the mix later on when he caught a six-yard pass from Kowalkowski to put his team way in the lead at 42-6.

The final blow came late in the third when Kowalkowski dove in from the two-yard line to complete the scoring.

Daluge finished with four catches for 52 yards, five rushed for 47 yards and three punt returns for an average of 25 yards. He, of course had two TDs on the night.

Kujawa had 61 yards on 11 carries for two TDs. He also recovered a Huthcinson fumble.

Brown was six-of-seven for 61 yards and one TD while Kowalkowski was four-of-five for 69 yards and two scores through the air and one on the ground.

On defense, Kujawa had 10 tackles and one forced fumble recovery. Nathan Weiss had six tackles. Kaden Nicolas had four tackles and two assists.

Becker ran 45 plays for 298 yards total while Hutchinson ran 59 plays for 193 yards. Becker finished with 15 first downs compared to11 for Hutch. The Bulldog defense held the Tigers to just 57 yards through the air.
