Jackie Yoerg came off the bench and had an excellent game for the Bulldogs last Friday at home, tabulating a double-double (12 points, 12 rebounds).  The Bulldogs jumped out quickly and built a 38-point lead by halftime, then coasted to the easy win.

Bulldogs 89, Hornets 46

The Bulldogs rattled the Hornets early and continued their high-pressure full-court press to build a huge lead then glide to a win at home Tuesday against Big Lake.

In-bound passes by the Hornets were constantly challenged after every basket and Becker’s quickness throughout their lineup was too much to handle for the out-matched five-some from Big Lake.

Becker was led by Gamble, who rained 21 points down on the Hornets while reeling in six rebounds, three steals and notching one assist. She was 8-for-15 from the floor and 5-of-7 from the free throw line.

Also tallying double-digits were Westin (18), Bengtson (13) and Courtney Nuest (10). Kent had early foul trouble and finished with just four points but she was tenacious on defense, nabbing seven steals and five rebounds while taking the sting out of the Hornet’s best players.

Mia Huberty was Big Lake’s leading scorer with 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists and had two steals.

Becker scoring: Gamble 21, Westin 18, Bengtson 13, C. Nuest 10, Brown 9, D. Nuest 7, Yoerg 6, Kent 4, Schug 1.
