Bulldogs Battle It Out In Foley

Becker 3, Foley 4
Becker boy’s tennis played in Foley Thursday afternoon. Foley has one of the best teams in the conference and are ranked number four in the state for class A.

Dawson, Josiah and Jackson all won their matches against quality players. “Dawson’s opponent is ranked number six in the state class A. He overcame some distractions and adversity in his match to get a big win,” say Coach Bengtson.

Josiah really showed his mental toughness and leadership by winning against a really skilled player at #2 singles. Jackson continues to show improvement in his game and the work he put in the off season is starting to pay off.

Doubles teams played well at times and are getting stronger. “I was especially impressed with our number one doubles team of Josh Duke and Austin Hill. They played the best match that I have seen them play together,” says Coach Bengtson
According to Coach Bengtson, the group needs to continue to focus on the little things each day like fundamentals and foot work. “If we do that, we will continue to improve.”
