Bulldogs annihilate Lakers, 33-0

The Becker Bulldog football team hosted the Detroit Lakes Lakers last Wednesday and came away with an easy, 33-0 shutout in their final regular season game of 2025.

With the win, Becker evened their season record to 4-4 and will play at home Saturday against Princeton.

Against Detroit Lakes, the Bulldogs started a little slow, scoring just one TD in the first quarter. That was accomplished by QB Tristan Kowalkowski’s four-yard pass completed to Sawyer Brown.

In the second, Kowalkowski found Brown again, this time from 24 yards out to put the home team up, 14-0.

With under a minute to go in the first half, Kowalkowski took care of business on his own, scoring on a one-yard plunge to put the Bulldogs up by three TDs at 20-0 (xp was missed).

In the third after shutting down the Lakers once again, Kowalkowski threw a bomb to Tarver Schendzielos for a TD from 49 yards out to increase the score to 27-0.

In the fourth, Kowalkowski found Adam Wipper for a nine yard TD pass to make the final score, 33-0.

Kowalkowski finished with 191 yards through the air on 14-of-20 completions and four TDs. He also had a rushing score.

On the gorund, Isiah Boyer gained 109 yards on 14 carries while Brown had three carries for 32 yards.

Schendzielos led the receiving corps with 74 yards on three catches and one TD. Brown had five catches for 48 yards and two scores.

On defense, Bennett Kujawa had a monster day as he tallied 10 tackles, two sacks and three tackles for loss. Andrew Fischer added six tackles to the stat sheet.

The Bulldogs finished with 400 total yards compared to just 161 for the Lakers. Becker had 17 first downs compared to just nine for Detroit Lakes.

The three stars for the game were Kowalkowski, Boyer and Schendzielos.
