Becker topped Milaca in a Granite Ridge Conference match-up Thursday night at home by a score of 3-1.
Milaca brought an impressive crowd that was very loud and boisterous and the team responded by playing strong. Becker started slow and lost the first set, but fought through the crowd noise and the intense play of the Wolves and began playing their game.
“I’m very proud of the all the girls and the heart they showed,” said Head Coach Taylor Essen.
Sam Haugen had nine kills, seven blocks and four aces. Sam Angell had 10 kills, 16 digs, and three aces. Whitney Raygor had 23 assists and eight digs. Kalie Jergens had18 kills and11 digs and Alexa Hanowski had 22 digs.
Game scores were 23-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-22.
Becker 3, Princeton 0
The girls played very well in the win over Princeton (25-15, 25-23, -) Tuesday night on the road.
Becker started slow in sets one and two and pulled out the wins, but finally found their stride in game three.
“We still have lots of room for improvement but this was a good boost before conference play on Thursday,” Essen said after the match Tuesday night.
Haugen had 14 kills and four blocks. Angell had 11 kills, 15 digs and two aces and Raygor had 19 assists and two aces.
