Bulldog swimmers sink BL

It was a great performance for the Becker Bulldog swimming and diving team last week, as they picked up a huge win over their rivals from Big Lake, 102-79.

“We had a  lot of great swims and a great start to the season,” Coach Tina Tamm said.  “A lot of our girls are swimming the times that they finished last season with and that means they will continue to improve and beat their personal bests from last season.”

It was the Bulldogs’ first home meet of the season, and they looked to be in mid-season form throughout.

“Our Section roster is already looking pretty good with a number of girls (16) already qualifying for the Section meet in November,” Tamm added.

The Bulldogs who have already qualified for sections include: Eiley Kaehler - 200 free and 500 free; Grace Mork - 200 free and 100 butterfly; Mia Suelter - 200 free; Kandell Hagen - 200 IM and 100 free; Laila Cook - 200 IM and 500 free; Elin Cook - 200 IM; Izza Mork - 50 free and 100 breaststroke; Alyssa Cowley - 50 free and 100 free; Myka Maksimenko - 50 free; Karli Kirk - diving; Maggie Graning - diving; Lillian Bonsante - diving; Kailey McGowan - 50 free and 100 butterfly; Clara Pratt - 100 free; Harper Kellogg - 500 free; Addison Kasper - 100 backstroke.

“That’s just about half of the team already qualified for sections, and there’s still more that will be added along the way,” Tamm said.  “We have a young team and a lot of talent.  So many of them can be moved into any event where we need them to be and help us get the win.”

Becker was at Princeton for a meet on Thursday and on Saturday, they will travel to Milaca for an invitational.
