The Becker swimming and diving team posted some great times and scores last Thursday, but fell to the Chisago Lakes Wildcats.
“It was a tough first loss of the season, but we had really good times and our section team is filling fast,” Coach Tina Tamm said.
The diving event continues to be a “Bulldog dominant” venture, as Becker picked up the top three spots and had three section qualifiers already: Karli Kirk (first), Maggie Graning (second) and Lillian Bonsante (third).
The Bulldogs racked up the section qualifying times, including: Grace Mork (200 free and 500 free), Izza Mork (200 IM and 100 breaststroke), Mia Suelter (200 IM and 100 backstroke), Josie Reckelberg (50 free and 100 butterfly), Myka Maksimenko (50 free and 100 butterfly), Kandell Hagen (50 free), Kailey McGowan (100 butterfly), Laila Cook (100 free and 100 backstroke), Elin Cook (500 free), Addison Kasper (100 backstroke), and Avalyn Awalt (100 backstroke).
“We have a lot of new girls this year which is providing more depth in many of the events,” Tamm added.
Becker was scheduled to compete against Big Lake on Thursday and then they head to the Milaca Invite on Saturday.
“Both should be very good events and we should come home with some individual awards from Milaca,” Tamm predicted.
