Bulldog gymnasts split pair of home meets

The Becker Bulldog gymnastics team hosted a pair of conference meets last week, losing a close match to Monticello before rebounding for a nice win over Princeton.

In Thursday’s tilt against the Magic, Becker scored a first place finish in two individual events plus the all around but came up a bit short on the scoreboard, 136.125 to 134.525.

Lauren Woelfel also had a great match, finishing second in the floor exercise (8.95) and the all around (34.2).

“The whole team has been working hard through our steady meet schedule to put in a few of their upgrades,” said coach Kayla Kalinowski.  “It has been fun to see the improvements they have been making.”

Lauren Woelfel also kept up her recent strong performances, scoring wins in the bars (8.275) and beam (8.55), while taking second in the all around (33.875).

“Overall the meets this week went very well and we are excited for next week as we get a break from the long stretch of meets we have had and finally have time to put in those last few upgrades we have been working on,” said Kalinowski.   “These girls have improved so much already and we can’t wait to see what happens when we add those final upgrades to our routines!”
