Bulldog girls track continues to impress in 2025

The Becker Bulldog girls track team continues to impress, running away with a pair of meets in the past week.

Last Tuesday, Becker racked up 127 team points to win a triangular meet held in Big Lake in the team’s first outdoor meet of the season.

“We had some very good performances for our first outdoor meet,” Coach Trish Reimer-Kealy said.

In the 100 meters, Salayna Allen and Josie Reckelberg tied for first with a time of 13.00, with Kailey Thompson taking third in 13.30.

The 200 had Reckelberg first in 27.90 and Allen second in 28.90, with Leon Morris 3rd in 29.50.

Becker also picked up top spots in the 400, with  Andie Changamire winning the event (62.0) and Kaylyn Rickard placing second (65.80).

In the 800,  Becker took the top four spots:  led by champion Adele Changamire, Katelyn Brower, Savannah Cunningham and Alyssa Brower.

The 1600 saw Bulldog Savannah Cunningham finish second and Laney Hodel third, while in the 3200, Sydnee Bull was the champion.

The 100 and 300 hurdle races were dominated by Becker, with Kailey Thompson taking the title in both events and Kali Schendzielos was third in the 100 and second in the 300.  Khloe Thom added a third in the 300 race.

Becker won every relay race to rack up impressive team points.  Winners of each race included: Reckelberg, Harper Miller, Raelee Lyon, and Allen (4x100); Maggie Graning, Schendzielos, Rickard, and Abby Atwood (4x200); Atwood, Brower, and the Changamire sisters (4x400); and Bull, Brower, and the Changamire sisters (4x800).

Other top finishers for the Bulldogs included, Shot put: Ella Tschida (first), Brook Donelson (third), Eilidh Mrnak (fourth); Discus: Tschida (first) Donelson (third); High Jump: Bella Kuschel (first), Graning (second); Pole Vault: Sophia Otto, first  (8’0), Violet Johnson (second); Long Jump: Reckelberg (first), Allen (second); Triple Jump: Otto (third).

Vs. Thunder

Thursday, the team went to Zimmerman for a blustery meet and came out with 109 points, easily defeating Spectrum, the host Thunder and Two Harbors.

“The girls did well at Zimmerman despite the cold and wet conditions,” Reimer-Kealy said.

Event top finishers for the Bulldogs included: Allen second in the 100 (12.93); Reckelberg first in the 100 (27.17); Rickard fourth in the 400 (66.87); Andie Changamire first in the 800 (2:33.35), Brower second (2:49.64), Hodel third (2:52.95); Adele Changamire second in the 1600 (5:36.98), Brower fourth (5:56.37); Savannah Cunningham third in the 3200 (12:52.64), Bull fourth (13:07.16); Lyon first in the 100 hurdles, Schendzielos second (17.71), Thom third (18.22), Miller fourth (18.17).

Lyon, Miller and Thom placed 1,2,4 in the 300 hurdles, while all four relays took the top spot.

Relays: 4x100 Reckelberg, Miller, Thompson, and  Allen; 4x200:  Atwood, Andie Changamire, Lyon, Reckelberg; 4x400:  Brower, Andie Changamire, Adele Changamire, Atwood; 4x800:  Cunningham, Bull, Alyssa Kinney, Rickard.

Tschida won the shot put, eclipsing the 31 foot mark, while Mrnak was second at nearly 29 feet.

Tschida added a third in the discus, while Graning was third in the High Jump and Reckelberg won the Triple Jump.
