The Becker dance team’s record-breaking season came to an end at the section tournament last Saturday, Feb. 27.
The team took fourth place in jazz and kick falling to last year’s state champion, Sartell and last year’s qualifiers ROCORI and St. Cloud Cathedral. The team was able to return from the pause and start off strong competing within the Mississippi 8 Conference. The Bulldogs won every single conference meet making them conference champs two years in a row.
Head Coach, Nadia Fischer-Danzeisen, noted that their six seniors were great leaders during this abnormal season. They were able to find creative ways to do team bonding despite not being able to have team dinners, outside bonding activities, etc.
This is quoted from the High School Facebook Post;
“Becker hosted the Mississippi 8 Dance Team Conference Championship today,” said a post on the high school’s Facebook page.
“It was our JV team’s last event of the year and they finished first in Jazz and second in Kick.
In the varsity competition, the Bulldogs swept both Jazz and Kick with a new record-breaking high score per judge of 82 from last weeks high score of an 80. They also earned 390 points in Kick crushing their previous record set with last week’s score of 373.”
“The final conference standings have the Becker Bulldogs repeating as Mississippi 8 Conference Champions in both Kick and Jazz! Congratulations, Bulldogs!”
