It was a stellar performance last week for the Becker boys track and field team, as they finished second place in the M8 Track and Field Championships. Becker had some outstanding performances, with nine different athletes picking up All-Conference honors.
Coach Paul Schmidt singled out a pair of his seniors for their continued excellence, with each of them earning four All-Conference honors.
Carter Reckelberg earned his honors by winning the long jump, placing third in both the 100 and 200, and running the anchor of the 4x200 winning relay team with Owen Angell, Isiah Boyer, and Tarver Schendzielos.
Angell was also All Conference in the pole vault (second overall), 110 hurdles (champion) and 300 hurdles (champion).
Boyer added All-Conference honors in the 400 (finishing fourth) and as a member of the 4x400 winning relay team along with Brandt Hemmelgarn, Evan Hubbard, and Tanner Felton.
Felton, Hubbard, and Hemmelgarn were also part of the second place 4x800 team along with teammate Parker Spindler, earning each of the the All-Conference designation.
Junior Alex Swanson finished fourth in the 1600 which was good for All Conference honors, as well as Tanner Felton who grabbed a second place finish in the 800 meters.
The Boys opened Section Prelims in Monticello on Tuesday, May 27 with Finals on Thursday, May 28.
