The #4 seed Becker Bulldog boys basketball team opened Section play Tuesday evening by hosting the #5 seed Zimmerman Thunder in a quarterfinal matchup. Becker used a great offensive output to win the game 76-57 and secure a spot in the Section 5AAA semifinals.
With the win, Becker earned a trip to Princeton on Friday night (March 10) to take on the top seeded Tigers, who received a bye in the opening round of the playoffs.
The win was Becker’s 10th on the season, opposite 16 losses.
The Bulldogs took a commanding 37-28 lead at halftime and then used clutch scoring down the stretch to seal the playoff win.
Mitchell Soltau scored a season high 24 points to lead Becker, while Alex Weiss had 18.

Saints
Last Wednesday, the Bulldogs played a make-up game against the St. Francis Saints and fell 62-73.
Becker did show offensive balance in the game, as they had nine different players score points in the game.

Wolves
Last Thursday, Becker hosted Milaca in the regular season finale and fell 75-60.
The Bulldogs kept it close until halftime, trailing just 36-29 at the break before the Wolves opened up the scoring in the second half.
