The Becker boys track team finished in second place last week at the Princeton Triangular, scoring 97 points, just behind the host Tigers’ 99.5. Zimmerman was third with 58.5 points.
The Bulldogs were still missing a few key performers as they are nursing injuries, otherwise the result would likely have been better.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Owen Angell, who placed first in both hurdle events (110 and 300), while he was second in the long jump and fourth in the 200 Meter dash.
Tarver Schendzielos won the long jump with a leap of 20’9”, placed second in the 200 with a time of 23.73 and finished third in the 100 with a time of 11.78. Andy Fisher placed second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 45.09, while Lincoln Hendricks placed fourth with a time of 46.81. Hendricks also placed fourth in the 110 hurdles (18.27), sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 37’8”, as well as posting a personal best of 17’6.5” in the long jump.
“Lincoln had a great meet, getting personal bests in each of his events,” Coach Paul Schmidt said.
Fisher added a fifth in the Triple with a leap of 38’.
Hunter Youngdahl scored points for the Bulldogs in the long jump, where he placed fifth with a distance of 19’4”, and he also helped the Becker 4x400 relay team win that event along with teammates Even Hubbard, Brandt Hemmelgarn and Parker Spindler.
Spindler also won the 1600 with a time of 4:52.
In the pole vault, it was Jon Bender picking up a third place finish by clearing 10’.
Saul Kreft and Zach Halvorson had personal record days in the field, with Kreft winning the discus with a toss of 120’2” and Halvorson was third with a throw of 108’. The two swapped places in the shot put with Halvorson winning the event with a 40’8” toss and Kreft placing fourth with a toss of 37’5”.
