The Becker Bulldog boys basketball team traveled to Albany last Friday night and lost by eight, 60-52.
Becker got three players to reach double digit scoring including leading scorer Sam Ricker, who tallied 15 points and three rebounds. Brandon Gustafson had 14 in the losing cause and also secured five rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot.
Gabe Lindbom had a double-double as he drained 11 points and had 11 rebounds while shooting 5-for-13.
Albany was led by Nolan Rueter, who had 16 points, one rebound, three assists and two steals. Also scoring in double digits for Albany were Jordan Schiffler (13 points) and Isaac Nett (11).
Becker shot 44% from the field and 23% from beyond the arc. They were 5-of-14 from the free throw line for 36% and had 13 second chance points and seven points off turnovers.
Albany shot 41% from the field, 40% from three point land and 62% from the charity stripe (8-of-13). They tallied eight second chance points and had 15 points off turnovers.
“We played tough, but Albany just made a few more plays then us down the stretch,” said Becker Head Coach Josh Ihrke. “We will look to rebound tomorrow night in Alexandria.”
