Boys Bb Team Loses First Game, 49 40

 
Thursday, the Becker Bulldog boys basketball team kicked off their regular season with a nine-point loss to Big Lake on the road.

The Bulldogs had a hard time containing Logan Nagorski, who drained 18 points in the win. Spencer Hinrichs kicked in 11 to improve to 2-0.
 
The Bulldogs were led by Brandon Gustafson, who  notched 12 points and was 5-of-18 from the floor. Gabe Lindbom tallied seven as well as Sam Koubsky as the Bulldogs trailed the Hornets by just three points at the half.
 
“We fought hard and played very good defense,” said Head Coach Josh Ihrke. “We just went cold from the field and could not get the ball to go in the hoop.”
 The Bulldogs finished 16-for-64 from the floor and 5-of-10 from the charity stripe.
 
“I am proud of our effort and energy to start off the season,” said Ihrke.
 
Becker scoring: Gustafson 12, Lindbom 7, Koubsky 7, Sam Ricker 6, Nick Mittelsteadt 6, Cade Callahan 2.
 
Big Lake scoring:  Nagorski 18, Hinrichs 11, Jake Ireland 9, DeVonne Harris 4, Jack Iverson 4, Brady Josewski 3.
