BL wrestlers go 3-3 in dual meets

The Big Lake Wrestling Team was busy last week, wrestling at the Eden Prairie Invitational Saturday and at a dual meet against St. Francis on Thursday.

The Hornets finished with three wins and three losses. The wins came against Perham 44-28, Anoka 43-33 and Lee’s Summit 57-24. They lost to Eden Prairie 47-24, Willmar 42-24 and St. Francis 43-36.

In those matchups, six Hornets finished with winning records.

Nolan Reiter went 6-0 at 152 pounds and 145 pounds. He beat  Johnny Ramos of Perham by tech fall, 21-5. He pinned Jafari Vanier Eden Prairie at 3:41. He beat Conlan Carlson of Willmar, 4-2. He pinned Oliver Ollman of Anoka at 3:13. He beat Noah Miller of Lee’s Summit by tech fall, 19-4 and also had a win by forfeit.

Cash Stortz was 5-1 at 120 and 126 pounds. He pinned Isaac Adams of Perham at 2:34. He pinned Joseph Heim of Eden at 2:28. He pinned Kyler Sherk of St. Francis at 5:01. He pinned Brock Bottineau of Anoka at 1:57 and he pinned Aj Wishne  of Lee’s Summit at 3:21.

Kane Lapointe went 5-1 at 285 pounds. He pinned Jaxon Vetsch of Perham at 1:06. He pinned Easton Johnson of St. Francis at 5:57. He pinned James Dickman of Willmar at 0:32. He pinned Tucker Olson  of Anoka at 0:45 and he pinned Santino Avitia of Lee’s Summit at 0:56.

Kale Westgaard finished 4-2 at 106 pounds. He pinned Dresden Wegscheid of Perham at 0:59. He pinned Ashton Charmoli of St. Francis at 2:40. He pinned Wyatt Cruze of Willmar at 3:23 and he pinned Luke Nally of Lee’s Summit at 3:48.

Zack Smith was 4-1 at 138 and 145 pounds. He pinned Kaden Feldt of Perham at 1:40. He pinned Zachary Weisman  of Eden Prairie at 1:04. He beat Garrett Wittek of Anoka by major decision, 13-4 and he pinned Michael Foley of Lee’s Summit at 1:57.

Carson Gellerman finished 4-2 at 145 pounds. He pinned Logan Guck of Perham at 1:39. He beat Ian Wittek of Anoka, 6-5. He beat Roan McCarthy of Lee’s Summit by major decision, 11-0 and had a win by forfeit.

The Hornets wrestled in a quad meet at Monticello Friday, results to follow next week.
