Big Lake wrestlers top Princeton, Chisago Lakes

The Big Lake wrestling team won both matches at a triangular meet last Thursday.

The Hornets defeated Princeton, 41-24 and Chisago Lakes, 44-21.

Against Princeton, there was a double forfeit at 107 pounds.

At 114, Big Lake’s Grant Volk beat Tyson Kobes by 10-1 major decision.

Elijah Scahller extended the lead for the Horney with a tech fall over Kathryn Marstein at 121 pounds.

At 127, Gavin Jones pinned William Harvala of Princeton at  5:23.

Cash Stortz of the Hornets pinned Brenden Marstein at 1:42 at 133 pounds.

Princeton won by forfeit at 139 pounds before Robert Davidson pinned Big Lake’s Jack Hess at 3:55 at 139.

At 152, Dallas Sibbet of the Hornets had a 16-1 tech fall over Carter Othoudt.

Jack Kohl of the Tigers pinned William Hess at 1:44 at 160 pounds.

At 172, Princeton’s Noah Ballweber pinned Hser Kaw at 1:06.

The Hornets took the final three weight classes. Liam Mayer won by forfeit at 189 pounds. At 215, Carson Gellerman pinned Malich Moorhead at 1:36 and Austin Frederickson beat Kevin Boeke in overtime, 3-1 in the 285 pound class.

The Hornets had a dual meet against ROCORI Thursday and a quad meet at Anoka Friday. Results next week.
