The Hornets travelled north to St. John’s University where they lost a close meet against St. Cloud Cathedral. 

Despite the loss, Big Lake had a number of strong individual performances. Torri Ramert continued her successful season with another victory in the 1-meter dive event. And the Hornets took the top two spots in the 100-yard freestyle with Adelyn Fox finishing first and Aimee Lu taking second. Emily Edlund posted another solid finish in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in second place. 

The team also found success in relays and had second place finishes in three events. April Gerth, Greta Schwirtz, Madelyn Fridgen, and Maia Wenderski finished runner-up in the 400-yard freestyle. Emma Forpahl, Abigail Fridgen, Adelyn Fox, and Emily Edlund took second place in the 200-yard freestyle. And then Forpahl, Edlund, Fox, and Wenderski combined to take second in the 200-yard medley. 

Next Thursday October 5th the team will host Chisago Lakes for a meet on Staff Appreciation Night.
