On Monday, the Hornets hosted their third annual invitational and swept all five categories for the first time this season.
Other participating schools were Rockford, Robbinsdale Cooper, Alexandria, Duluth Denfeld, Minneapolis Southwest, and Minneapolis Washburn.
The team saw a couple of records set during the sweep. Varsity kick achieved their highest score in program history with a 331. And varsity jazz set their season high mark with a 322. That score was good for second all-time in program history.
The home invite also served as senior night for the team where they honored their four seniors Calissa Pishney, Jayden O’Brien, Madeline Peterson, and Victoria Lundquist. All four seniors also serve as captains.
Fridley Invitational
Last Saturday, the team traveled south to compete at the Fridley Invite. Varsity jazz and JV jazz both earned first place finishes. JV kick and B-squad jazz each finished second, and varsity kick took third. The Hornets competed against teams from Northfield, St. Paul Public Schools, Richfield, Columbia Heights, and Fridley.
