Big Lake Boys BB Lose 3

The Hornet boys’ basketball team dropped three games this past week, including a pair of non-conference matchups. The team lost to Monticello last Friday, Bemidji on Saturday, and Delano on Tuesday. 

Vs. Monticello

Big Lake got behind early against Monticello, trailing 50-29 at halftime. The team was unable to cut into the lead in the second half as the Magic won 93-57. 

Max Siegrist and Owen Wilczek provided most of the scoring in the loss. Siegrist led the team with 22 points and Wilczek was close behind with 16. Judd Layton added nine points of his own and Lane Pettis dished out seven assists. 

Vs. Bemidji

On Saturday the team fell 85-59 to the Lumberjacks from Bemidji. 

Vs. Delano

On Tuesday the Hornets traveled to Delano and lost 83-46. Against the Tigers, Siegrist and Pettis were the top scorers with 21 points and 10 points, respectively. Leroy Hamrin added eight points as well.

Upcoming 

The team has a pair of home games coming up against Mississippi 8 Conference opponents. On Friday the team will host rival Becker, then play Chisago Lakes next Tuesday.
