Big Lake Boys BB Beaten By Becker

Last Friday, the Big Lake boys’ basketball team lost 98-65 to their rival, the Becker Bulldogs. 

The Hornets held an 18-16 lead midway through the first half but were unable to contain the Bulldog offense after that. At the half, Becker led 45-34 and Big Lake was incapable of making up any ground in the second half.

Lane Pettis led the Hornets with 24 points. He added three assists and two rebounds. 

Other top scorers for Big Lake were Leroy Hamrin with 12, Judd Layton with nine, Max Siegrist with eight, and Trevor Stukenholtz with five. Layton also finished with six rebounds and four assists and Stukenholtz had five rebounds and three assists. 

The Jan. 21 game against Chisago Lakes has been reschedule for Feb. 14. 

This week the team hit the road for a matchup of a Mississippi 8 Conference foe. On Thursday they traveled to Cambridge-Isanti (check back next week for results) and then next Tuesday they will head to North Branch.
