The Eagles couldn’t weather the Storm as Sauk Rapids-Rice cruised to a 9-5 opening night victory Tuesday night.
B/BL struck first with a Brayden Graning goal less than a minute into the game, but from there it was all Sauk Rapids for the next two periods. The Storm raced out to a 7-2 lead, including four straight goals in the middle of the second period. The two teams were even in the third period with each team scoring twice.
Leading the way for the Eagles were the senior duo of Graning and Jase Tobako. Graning finished with two goals and three assists. Meanwhile Tobako poured in three goals, all coming off Graning assists, for a hat trick.
The team will look to get their first win this Thursday, November 30th, when they travel to Wahpeton.
