The Becker Bulldogs’ winter sports season is underway and the Patriot is bringing you a capsule of who the teams are, when they are playing and the rosters (whenever this info was made available to the Patriot.)

The girls basketball team is returning to the 2022-23 season with very high expectations. The Becker varsity girls are ranked No. 1 pre-season n Class AAA by Minnesota Basketball News, which ranks the Top 20 teams weekly in each class. The team is coached by Dan Baird, Scott Gudmunson and Dominic Squires.
Their roster includes: Dani Nuest, Maren Westin, Hannah Dierkes, Ayla Brown, Reese Hausmann, Madison Bass, Alexa Voller, Alexis Rose, Avery Johnson, Evelyn Kreft and Elizabeth Mackendanz.
Their games for November are: 11/26 at STMA, 11/29 vs. Princeton. For December, they play at Hopkins against Providence Academy on 12/3, then at Annadale 12/9, home against Minnehaha Academy 12/13, home versus Eden Prairie 12/16, home versus Roseville Area 12/22, on the road against Alexandria 12/29, at St. Ben’s 12/30 against St. Cloud Area and Minnetonka.
In January, they travel to Willmar 1/3, to Providence Academy 1/5, at home versus Big Lake 1/6, at Monticello 1/10, home versus Chisago Lakes 1/12, at North Branch 1/17, home versus C-I 1/20, at Princeton 1/24, at Big Lake 1/27, at STMA 1/28 and home against Monticello 1/31.
In February, they host St. Francis 2/3, play at Alexandria against Sauk Centre 2/4, at Chisago Lakes 2/7, home against Benilde-St. Margaret’s 2/11, home against North Branch 2/14, at C-I 2/17 and at St. Francis 2/23 to close out the regular season.
The Becker boys basketball team is ranked #20 in Class AAA by Minnesota Basketball News. They are coached by Josh Ihrke, Hokan Bengtson, Jon Crowley and Randy Kragerud.

The boys have one game in November, at home against Legacy Christian Academy.
In December, they travel to Zimmerman 12/6, Annandale 12/9 and Delano 12/16 before returning home to play Willmar 12/20. They then play at Waconia 12/22, at St. Cloud State againts Spring Lake Park 12/29 and at St. John’s against Albany 12/30.
In January, they host Anoka 1/3, Big Lake 1/6, at Monticello 1/10, at home against Chisago Lakes 1/12, home against North Branch 1/17, at C-I 1/20, home against Princeton 1/24, at Big Lake 1/27, at STMA 1/28 then home against Monticello 1/31.
In February, they travel to St. Francis 2/3, at Chisago Lakes 2/7, at Sauk Rapids-Rice 2/10, at North Branch 2/14, home against C-I 2/17, at Princeton 2/21, then have three home games to close out the rgular season against St. Francis 2/23, Rocori 2/27 and a 3/2 game against Milaca.
The Becker wrestling team is coached by Travis Holt, Dustin Weege, Jesse Puncochar, Luke Salzer, Jaydon Grommersch and Andrew Saunier.

Their first match is 12/8 at home against Princeton. On 12/9 and 12/10, they travel to Brainerd for a two-day tournament, then to Glencoe-Silver Lake 12/16. On 12/22, they head to Dassel-Cokato, then to Rogers for a two-day tournament 12/29 and 12/30.
In January, they head to La Crosse Center for another two-day event, 1/6/1/7. On 1/12, they compete at Chisago Lakes, then at Monticello 1/13 to wrestle the Magic and North Branch. On 1/14, they take on St. Cloud Tech, then host C-I 1/19. On 1/21, they head to Hutchinson before returning home against Big Lake 1/26.. On 1/27, they compete against St. Francis and Sauk Rapids-Rice at SFHS to close out the month.
In February, they travel to STMA to take on Hastings and STMA on 2/3, then return home to take on Foley and Rocori on 2/9. On 2/10, they take on Albany to close out the regular season before section play starts 2/24 and 2/25.
The Becker gymnastics team is coached by Jen Harmoning, Sheena Meillier, Brent Wuollet and Justine Vilmo.

On Dec. 2, Becker is hosting an invitational with multiple schools. On 12/8, Becker hosts St. Francis and on 12/13, they host C-I. On Dec. 17, Becker travels to Annandale for an invite.
In January, the girls travel to Princeton 1/5, then Big Lake 1/7, then Chisago Lakes 1/10 an North Branch 1/19. On Jan. 28, they hit the road for Worthington, then to Monticello 1/31.
In February, they host Big Lake on 2/7. then go to C-I for a conference JV meet before sections starting on 2/17.
The Becker dance team is coached by Nadia Fischer-Danzeisen, Rhiannon Edwards-Lieberman, Autumn Martin, Mel VanHofwegen and Gabriella Thelen.
The team consists of: Claire MacMillan, Ava Holm, Captain Wren Williams, Captain Hannah Oakes, Captain Stephanie Kluge, Captain Amanda Krenz, Captain Ashley Matvick, Ella Dumonceaux, Lilli Melby, Marissa Hook, Aylla King, Makenna Schuldt, Gracie Tobako, Ryleigh Procter, Emily Huffman, Abigail Spindler, Natalie Pozorski, Kenzi Faber, Rylee Felton, Sara Jonas, Hayli Kotzer, Chloe Peterson, Maddie Hickman, Aynsely Holm, Lila Zinken, Daphnee Meyer, Ella Fenkse, Kendall Lamp, Mia Kinze;, Kennedy Drayna, Jenessa Toulouse, Ashlyn Frey, Claire Schendzielos, Taylor Weismann, Ali Vieau, Lydia Bishir, Payton Lechner and Abby Dahle.
Their season started in November with a home meet 11/28, then a road meet the next day at Sartell.
In December, the girls travel to Rocori 12/3, the St. Francis 12/9 and Eastview 12/10 before returning home 12/17 to compete against multiple schools. On 12/20, they head to Chisago Lakes to close out the month.
In January, the Bulldogs travel to Edina on 1/7, then North Branch 1/14. on 1/28, they compete at Monticello.

The Becker/Big Lake hockey team is coached by Zach Barzee and consists of Thomas Zerwas, Grayson Kipka, Elliot Ginter, Lucas Schmitt, Josh Miller, Tyler Lillemo, Charley Pishney, Logan Ahlbrecht, Trevor Briggs, Samuel Rusin, William Johnson, Rylan Tobako, Garrett Marotz, Brayden Graning, Jase Tobako, Blayne Varner, Eli Scheideman, Cooper Wright, Nolan O’Neal, Keagan Kraft, Grady Slepica, Wyatt Bodle, Ben Sellner, Andrew Holm, Cooper Peterson, Declan Weber, Gavin Leitold and Gunnar Hanson.
The season started Nov. 29 against Sauk Rapids-Rice and in December, BBLHS hosted Breckenridge/Wahpeton 12/1. then Bagley 12/3. On Dec. 6, BBLHS plays Northern Edge, then Windom Area 12/10 and Prairie Centre 12/13. On Dec. 15, they host Monticello then on 12/20, Princeton. On Dec. 22, BBLHS plays Northern Lakes to close out the month.
In January, BBLHS plays Willmar 1/3, then Pine City 1/5. On Jan. 7, they host La Crescent-Hokah, then 1/10 they play against C-I. On 1/13. BBLHS hosts Northern Edge, then host Moose Lake 1/17, then Chisago Lakes 1/19. On Jan. 24, they host Mora and on 1/26 they play against River Lakes. On 1/28, they play on the road against Wahpeton, then host Prairie Centre on the last day of the month.
In February, BBLHS takes on Princeton on 2/2, Moose Lake 2/3 and then host Pine City 2/7. They go to Bagley on 2/9 then finish up the regular season at home against C-I 2/10.
