Becker softball record improves to 12-8

Becker softball hosted their last regular season game against the Princeton Tigers May 14. 

The Bulldogs started off strong with a 2-0 lead after Lily Schmidt drove in Bella Hunter and Allie Duncombe with a line drive hit. 

A run was scored by the Tigers in the top of the fourth inning to bring them within one run. 

The Bulldogs retaliated in the bottom of the fourth inning when Hunter walked and Maddie Gardner scored on a passed ball. 

In the top of the fifth, the Tigers would go on to score two runs to tie the game at 3-3. 

The game would remain tied and lead into extra innings. In the top of the ninth inning, the Tigers scored a run to take the lead. In the bottom half, Jaimee Cook led off with a bunt single and continued to second on a sacrifice bunt. After moving on to third, Lauren Ergen laced a single allowing Cook to score. Alli Duncombe followed with a line drive which led to Karli Kirk scoring for the Becker win. 

Cook went eight innings with Lauren Peters coming in the ninth to pick up the victory. The Bulldogs earned the #3 seed in the section tournament with a 12-8 record.
