The game began with a slow start as both teams took turns, driving the ball down to each of the goals on the side. Becker increased their pressure and kept the action on Cathedrals side of the field.
Cathedral tried to break Becker’s offense, as the girls dribbled through the defense. Becker made an attempt to make a goal, but it was blocked by Cathedral’s goalie.
Soon, Junior Maddie Corey scored off of a chest volley from Cathedral’s goal kick. Giving Becker one point and Cathedral nothing.
Cathedral drove the ball down the court towards Aiden Bauer, who made several impressive saves throughout the game, and attempted but failed.
Sophomore Emma Domka received a pass from Senior Macy Eigen and ended up scoring the goal. This brought Becker up to two to zero.
Cathedral made a couple more attempts but was usually stopped by Becker’s Rielly Cencer and Tori Nelson, who played defense during the game.
Eventually, Junior Maddie Corey received the ball and made a cross to Sophomore Emma Domka, who scored another point for Becker, bringing the game three to zero.
During the second half, not much happened as both teams made goal attempts but were usually shut down quickly.
As the game was coming to a close, Cathedral had a one on one face off with Becker goalie, Aiden Bauer and scored. This gave Cathedral one point before the game was over leaving the final score 3-1.
