Thursday, the Becker girls soccer team played and beat Melrose at home.
In the first half, Becker played an intense game and ran swiftly through Melrose's defense. Melrose tried to take control of the ball but failed as Becker went in and scored its first goal.
Melrose had gained control of the ball but lost control as they crossed into Becker’s defense. Becker’s defense this game was strong and kept the pressure away from their goal throughout the first half.
The Becker team was able to set each other up to make two more points still early on in the game. Melrose tried to recover in increased their intensity, but it wasn’t enough as Becker soon scored another goal.
Melrose struggled to gain control of the game, as Becker stole the ball and kept the pressure near Melrose’s goal and made four more goals. This ended the first half of the game.
During the second half, Becker gained control of the game and dominated scoring a goal before Melrose could stop them. Melrose had many attempts to get a goal, but it was never successful.
Becker scored three more points as Melrose tried to gain control of the ball, but weren’t able to. Melrose finally gained control of the ball, but Becker kept up their pressure, stole the ball and scored another goal.
Throughout the second half, Becker snuck through Melrose’s defense, kept up their defensive pressure, and scored seven more goals before the game was over.
