The Becker girls’ cross country team achieved a great feat by taking first place in the Mississippi 8 Conference Championship, which they haven’t won since 2022.
The Bulldogs performed exceptionally, with all conference going out to all seven of the varsity runners and all conference honorable mention to the eighth runner.
The meet was held at The Ponds Golf Course in St. Francis. The top finisher for the Bulldogs was Alyse Denne, who came in fifth overall. Katelyn Brower followed close behind in ninth. Sydnee Bull took 12th, Anna Wynia took 13th, Evy Malisheski took 14th, Savannah Cunningham took 16th, and Laney Hodel took 18th. All these girls secured the top 18 finishes to claim All-Conference recognition.
Aysa Johnson took 26th place, which earned her All-Conference Honorable Mention.
The Becker JV girls also captured the team title.
The impressive streak continued for the girls on Thur., Oct. 23, when they claimed the Section 5AA Championship at St. Cloud Apollo High School. The team placed all seven runners in the top 14.
Alyse Denne took fifth, Anna Wynia took eighth, Katelyn Brower took ninth, Sydnee Bull took 10th, Evy Malisheski took 12th, Laney Hodel took 13th, and Savannah Cunningham took 14th.
