With the temperature averaging -10 Saturday morning, ice fishing was a bit chilly for many anglers for the Little Hole ice fishing contest on Big Lake.
Parker Meyer and Gavin Swanson were with other volunteers from the Becker Bass Team who braved the cold to drill holes for the fishing tournament.
Parker caught the first fish of the tournament. He was also lucky and won a door prize of three T-shirts. Gavin was in fourth place and Parker in fifth for quite awhile.
Fifth place was the Grand prize of $2,500.
They knew that they could get bumped out at any time. The boys agreed to share the big money if one of them won.
In the end, Gavin ended up winning the fifth spot and Parker got sixth. Parker won a fishing sled, nice minnow bucket, and a clock. Gavin was very excited to win the cash, especially since he had accidentally dropped his phone in a lake the night before!
