BY Susana Kuehne, Contributing Writer

The Becker 14U (14 years old and under team) took 2nd place at the Champlin Park Ice Breaker Tournament in early June. They won 5 to 1, including the championship game. Becker boys lost the first place title to the Anoka/Ramsey team but played excellent overall.

Junior Team Captain Kaj Fritsch was named to the 2018 US Lacrosse All-Academic State Team.  This honor is for players who strive for excellence on the field, in the classroom and in their community. Kaj is a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), serves in the High School Mentor Program, has a 4.0 GPA and volunteers through the Becker Community Center as a youth representative. Kaj also scored over 30 on his ACT which was necessary to qualify for this award.

Kaj has also been an outstanding lacrosse player winning 2017 Team MVP and the 2018 Team Leadership Award. His tough defensive play has helped the Bulldogs improve over the last two seasons and has drawn attention from opposing coaches throughout the conference.
