Last Thursday the Becker boys cross country competed in Little Falls’ Lucky Lindy. The day was hot and muggy that proved a challenge for all the runners.
The boys were very close behind two conference opponents, Little Falls and Cathedral,. Becker ended up finishing seven places ahead of other section teams.
The Bulldogs saw PR’s coming from Basil Ricker and Justin Kringler. Basil’s time of 17:17.84 earned him a spot in the top 25 and is getting closer to being under 17 minutes.
Becker had four varsity boys who finished before the time 18:30. Lachlan Lahr and Lukas Karl finished neck and neck as they challenged each other, along with Cade Stommes.
In JV Bennett Edling crossed the finish line at 19:46, which is just 12 seconds behind his PR. Finishing after Bennett was David Myres and Jake Nelson, who finished very close to each other and encouraged each other throughout the race.
Tyson Ricker crossed the line around 21 minutes with Nathan Zimmerman following shortly behind.
Compared to last years results, the Bulldogs have shown great improvement this year. All the returning racers completed their times between 30 seconds to one minute faster than last year.
