SOPHOMORE ROBBIE BENSON had one of Becker’s three hits (double) in a loss to Moorhead Monday in the first round of the Section 8AAA playoffs in St. Cloud.

Baseball Team’s Season Ends With 10 0 Loss To Moorhead

The Becker Bulldogs baseball team lost Monday's neutral playoff game in Section 8AAA play against Moorhead by a score of 10-0. The game was played at Dick Putz field in St. Cloud. 

No. 5 seeded Moorhead scored six runs in the third inning to jump out ahead of No. 12 seed Becker and knock the Bulldogs out of the playoffs. The Bulldogs managed just three hits in the shortened, five-inning game.
 
Tyler Eidsness and Shane Steckler combined to pitch a two-hitter for Moorhead, each giving up one hit. Eidsness received the win, pitching four innings.
 
Preston Kraiter of Moorhead went 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the win.
 
Robbie Benson had a double as one of Becker’s three hits.
 
Moorhead advanced to play No. 4 St. Cloud Apollo at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Municipal Athletic Complex.
 
With the season wrapped up, Becker will hold their annual end-of-the-season banquet Monday at Hunter’s Ridge. Awards will be presented and the results will be recognized in next week’s Citizen.
