Baseball team falls to 5-10

The Becker boys baseball team dropped to 5-10 on the year, going 1-3 in the past week.

Last Thursday, Becker traveled to Cambridge-Isanti for a doubleheader. In the first game, Becker came out on top with a 7-5 victory. Mitchell Louden went 3-4 at the plate and Bennet Tatge drove in two runs in the win. Becker scored once in the fourth, four times in the sixth and once in the seventh to capture the win.

In the second matchup, C-I rebounded to beat the Bulldogs 12-5. Becker scored twice in the first, once in the third and twice in the sixth to keep the game close. However, C-I tallied five in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

Friday, the Bulldogs hit the road to Alexandria and lost 12-0 in a two-hit shutout. Louden took the loss on the mound, giving up just two hits, four walks and seven runs in 1-2/3 of an inning.

Monday, the Bulldogs were shut out again as Foley dominated the game with a 10-0 win at Foley High School. The Bulldogs managed just four hits in the affair, two by Luke Eigen.

The Bulldogs traveled to Sauk Rapids Friday before returning home for a Saturday game againstSartell-St. Stephen, then another home and away doubleheader against St. Francis Tuesday before closing out the regular season Thursday at Chisago Lakes.
