The Becker Bandits baseball team went 1-6 over the last two weeks.
Muskies 10, Bandits 0
In a July 8 game on the road, the Bandits struggled at the plate and the Muskies ate their way through four Bandit pitchers in the easy, shutout win.
Peyton Bigaouette was handed the ball on the hill as he went three innings, giving up three walks, four hits and two earned runs.Dalton Fouquette relieved him and went one inning, notching one strikeout, while giving up two walks, three hits and six runs (two earned).
Cam Fischer pitched the next inning, giving up one walk and one hit. Andrew Kolbinger also tossed one inning, striking out two, surrendering one walk, four hits and two earned runs.
At the plate, Matthew Moe went 1-for-3; Hunter Stulz went 1-for-2 and Kreeden Blomquist and Matt Krenz drew walks.
Jacks 6, Bandits 4
In the Bandit’s season home opener, the Foley Jacks spoiled the fun with a two-run win at Becker July 10.
Joe Dolan did his best, going 1-for-4 at the plate while scoring one run. Connor Rolf went 1-for-4 and Matt Krenz was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
Mitch Louden was also 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored; Stulz went 1-for-3 with a two-bagger and Weston Schug drew a walk and scored a run.
On the mound, Moe pitched six innings, recording one strikeout, two walks, four hits, and giving up one earned run.
Cam Fischer relieved Moe and went 2-1/3 innings, striking out two, giving up two walks, five hits and five earned runs.
Weston Schug capped off the game with a 2/3’s of an inning stint giving up one hit.
Bandits 6, Rivercats 5
In an extra-inning affair, the Becker Bandits stole the win over the Clearwater Rivercats July 12. The game went 13 innings.
Schug got the start and went five innings, notching five strikeouts, and surrendering two walks, 10 hits and five earned runs.
Fouquette tossed five innings, tallying an amazing 14 strikeouts while giving up four walks and two hits. Peyton Bigaouette picked up the win, going three innings, with four strikeouts, while giving up two walks and one hit.
Schug helped on offense, too as he went 4-for-6 with a walk, a run scored and had an RBI. Blomquist was instrumental too as he went 4-for-7 with an RBI.
Connor Rolf was 2-for-6 with a run scored; Fouquette was 2-for-7 with a run scored and an RBI; Matt Krenz was 1-for-3 with two walks and Moe was 1-for-6 with a walk.
Joe’s 14, Bandits 10
July 15, the Bandits visited the St. Joseph Joe’s and lost in a high-scoring affair.
Dalton Fouquette had a big game, going 3-for-4, with four RBIs, a double and a walk. Hunter Stulz was 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs.
Matthew Moe started on the mound and he went four innings, giving up nine hits, nine runs (six earned), two walks and had two strikeouts. Cam Fischer came on in relief and pitched four innings, giving up six hits, five runs (one earned), one walk while striking out five.
Weston Schug finished the game going 2-for-5 while Moe was 2-for-5 with a double. Connor Rolf was 1-for-2 with two RBIs, and two walks and Kreeden Blomquist was 1-for-5 with a two-bagger and two RBIs.
Matt Krenz was 1-for-4 with a walk.
Big Lake 4, Becker 0
July 17, the Bandits fell to Big Lake by four runs in a shutout.
Weston Schug toed the runner for Becker and he went 7-2/3s innings giving up eight hits, three runs (two earned) and garnered six strikeouts.
Fouquette finished the game on the mound, going 1-1/3 innings, giving up three hits, one earned run while striking out three. Fouquette went 1-for-3 at the plate.
Moe was 1-for-3 while Blomquist drew a walk.
Rockies 9, Bandits 7
Last Sunday, the Bandits traveled to Cold Spring and dropped their third game in a row, this time to the Rockies by two runs.
Fouquette got the start this time and he pitched three innings, giving up one hit, two earned runs, five walks, while striking out four. He gave way to Joe Dolan, who pitched four innings, giving up four hits, two runs (one earned), one walk, and had four strikeouts.
Ryan Groskreutz came in to pitch 2/3 of an inning, giving up three hits, five earned runs, two walks and recorded one strikeout. Andrew Kolbinger came on in relief, going 1/3 of an inning and recording one strikeout.
The offense was led by Dolan, who notched three hits in five at bats and tallied two RBIs. Fouquette was 2-for-5 with three runs batted in.
Hunter Stulz went 1-for-4 with a walk; Moe went 1-for-4 with an RBI; Zach Wenner was 1-for-4; Ryan Groskreutz was 1-for-4 and Matt Krenz was 1-for-5 with one run batted in.
Saints 12, Bandits 7
In another heart breaker, the Bandits fell to the Elrosa Saints last Saturday on the road.
Schug got the start on the mound, going three innings, surrendering nine hits, eight runs (one earned), one walk while striking out three.
Moe succeeded Schug, going four innings, giving up three hits, one run, one walk, with five strikeouts. Dolan capped off the night by pitching one inning, relinquishing two hits, three earned runs, two walks while striking out two.
At the plate, Dolan had a great night, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk. Schug went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, a walk and was hit-by-a-pitch.
Blomquist was 2-for-5 with an RBI; Stulz went 1-for-4; Matt Krenz went 1-for-3 with a walk; Fouquette went 1-for-5 with an RBI and Ryan Groskreutz was 1-for-4.

The playoffs begin and the Bandits’ first game was Friday (July 31) at Big Lake. Saturday, they come home to host Big Lake at 1 p.m. and game three (if needed) will be played at Big Lake Sunday, Aug. 2 at 5 p.m.
