Bandits down St. Joe

The Becker Bandits baseball team opened the season recently and picked up a win over St. Joe, a team with recent state tournament experience.

Becker won the game 8-6, with Will Thorn starting on the mound and working four innings.  Cam Fischer threw the next three innings to pick up the win, while Matt Moe picked up the save with a final .2 innings of work.

At the plate, Becker was led by Kreeden Blomquist who had three hits, while Weston Schug, Kellan Graning, Dalton Fouquette and Will Thorn each had two hits apiece.

The previous week, Becker fell to the Cokato Kernels, 2-13.

Graning was the offensive leader in that game, going three-for-three with an RBI.

Becker will host the Clear Lake Lakers Sunday evening in a 7 p.m. game held at Becker HS.

Monday night, they are in St. Francis to take on the East Bethel Cubs before hosting Quamba in a Wednesday night affair.
