The Bulldog high school 7-on-7 football team has played in two tournaments so far this summer — going 3-1 against some very solid teams from across the state.
Last month, June 15, the boys traveled to Brainerd High School and beat the Warriors as well as the Crosby-Ironton Rangers in shutout wins.
June 24, the guys played at the Minnesota Vikings’ new practice center and beat a very good Stillwater team by a score of 48-24. In the second game, they lost a close game to Bloomington Jefferson, 33-30.
Next up, the boys and coaches will meet the next three Sunday nights (July 8, 15 & 22) at Becker High School at 4 p.m. with one squad traveling to Buffalo H.S. to play the Bison, Kimball and Annandale while the rest of the players stay and play 7-on-7 football at home.
Any students grades nine thru 12 who would like to participate at these future events, show up at the school at 4 p.m. July 8 - or call Coach Dwight Lundeen at 763 261 4901 for more information.
“Becker football has been participating in summer 7-on-7 for many years,” said Lundeen. “I feel it is an outstanding way to develop the skills to throw, catch and defend the pass. We would love to have you come and join us.”
