The Becker Bulldog girls swimming and diving team participated in their final regular season Granite Ridge Conference meet last Saturday at home.
“The girls swam very well this weekend,” said Head Coach Tina Tamm. “We have a bunch of personal best times and a few more girls qualify for the section meet next weekend.”
Emi Quill won the diving competition for her second consecutive Granite Ridge Conference title.
New season best times include: Alana Berger dropped 2.5 seconds on her 200M intermediate medley; Emily Lipinski dropped 1.2 seconds on her 100M butterfly, finishing in eighth place;
Nev Bjorlin dropped .seven seconds on her 100M freestyle; Morgan Schrader dropped 13.5 seconds on her 500M freestyle, which also qualifies her for the section meet.
Arleigh Pudlick dropped 2.6 seconds on her 100M backstroke, also qualifying her for the section meet; Alana Berger and Monica Zimmerman also qualified for the section meet in the 100M breaststroke.
Tamm’s team now has a total of 20 girls ready to compete in the Section 5A meet Nov 9-11 in Sauk Rapids.
“The girls just finished the hardest week of practice and are looking forward to next week,” said Tamm, who pointed out it's her team’s favorite week of the season.
“This is what they've worked hard for all season. We will travel to Sauk Rapids on Thursday and see what they day has in store.”
