Sun., July 10, 2022: Humboldt Dr – Security Alarm – Officers responded. No problems found; Glenwood Ave – Suspicious Activity – Caller asked if Bruno could sniff for his missing cash. He was advised Bruno is not a currency sniffing dog; Station St – Civil – Questions about court orders; Loon Dr – Harassment – Questions about harassment and prior threats; Hill St – Juvenile Complaint – Juvenile did not return home. A patrolling officer came across the juvenile and returned them home; Pleasant Ave – Domestic – Officers called to a family disturbance. Mediated; Shore Acres – Security Alarm – Officers responded to check. No problems found; Loon Dr – Order Violation – Officer investigated an order violation.
Sat., July 9, 2022: Marcia Dr – Traffic Complaint – Call of an impaired party driving. An officer located the vehicle and saw driving conduct. The vehicle was stopped. A DWI investigation was conducted. The driver was arrested for DWI, tested, and booked into Sherburne Jail; Hwy 10/Cty Rd 15 – Agency Assist – Hit and run suspect continued to an address in Big Lake. Officers responded to the location to assist State Patrol; Lake St S – Theft – Caller’s wallet fell off vehicle while driving. It was found along the side of the road. It had cash and cards missing. Report taken for stolen items; Lakeside Park – 911 Hang Up – Spanish speaking person, unknown issue. Officers located the party and found it was a misdial; Eagle Lk Rd N – Suspicious Person – Call of a person outside a business asking customers for money. Officers contacted party. Party was assisted by a citizen; Lakeside Park – Missing Person – An adult reported a missing child to an officer at the park. The officer was checking the park when the adult advised the child was found; Lake St S – Trespass – Call for trespassing an unwanted guest. Officers assisted a party load property and shuttle vehicles away from the property; Station St – Civil – Questions about property removal during a separation; Eagle Lk Rd N – Hit and Run – Vehicle was sideswiped overnight while parked on the side of the roadway. Investigation ongoing.
Fri., July 8, 2022: Grace Dr – Juvenile Complaint – Caller was threatened to be shot with an Orbeez gun. Officers were unable to locate the parties; Hill St – 911 Hang Up – Officers responded, found children were playing with a phone; Station St – Disturbance – Call of two arguing in a parked vehicle. Officers responded and found the vehicle left prior to their arrival; Eagle Lk Rd S – ATV Complaint – Complaint of ATV with loud exhaust driving on the road; Harrison Dr – Found Person – Call of an infant found outside. A juvenile contacted the caller and took the infant back home. An officer spoke with an adult at their residence; Junegrass Dr – Domestic – Officers mediated a family disturbance; Jefferson Blvd – Suspicious Person – Party outside a business asking customers for money. Party left prior to officers’ arrival; Edinburgh Way – Agency Assist – An officer accompanied a deputy on an order service; Hwy 10/137th St – Agency Assist – An officer assisted deputies, Becker PD, and State Patrol with an injury crash. Aircare also responded to the scene; Kenabec St – Suspicious Activity – Smoke detector sounding in a residence. No sign of smoke or fire. Contact made with the owner. Assisted silencing the unhappy detector; Lake Ridge Dr – Misc Officer – A citizen called to asking about shooting bow and arrow in the city limits. City ordinance does not allow this; Minnesota Ave – 911 Hang Up – Call from a building phone. Multiple such calls in the past with no problems or issues with alarm system; 198th Ave – Security Alarm – Officers checked the business and did and interior check when a keyholder arrived. No issues found.
Thurs., July 7, 2022: Lake St S – Trespass – Officers called to a business for patrons using cocaine. Officers arrived but the patrons already left. Officers investigated to identify the patrons. Their identities were obtained. Officers located and trespassed the patrons as requested; Hwy 10/Cty 50 – Agency Assist – Officers assisted deputies and State Patrol on a multiple vehicle injury crash; Cty Rd 14/Cty Rd 68 – Agency Assist – Officers assisted deputies with a motorcycle injury crash; Lake St/Monroe St – Traffic Stop – An officer on patrol saw a motorist holding a cell phone to their ear while driving. The driver was cited for hands free violation; Hwy 10 – Agency Assist – An officer accompanied a deputy on an eviction service; Station St – Harassment – Harassment report taken; Hiawatha/Eagle Lk Rd N – Traffic Complaint – Officer waved down for a traffic complaint. The officer located the vehicle described and they explained it was a road rage situation and they thought the other driver was the aggressive party; Rose Dr – Fraud – A business found a counterfeit $20 in their till count. Investigation ongoing; Sanford Select Acres Park – Suspicious Vehicle – Officers checked two vehicles in the parking lot. No problems found; Forest Rd – Shooting Complaint – Report of 2 sets of 2 gunshots heard. Officers checked the area. Nothing located.
Wed., July 6, 2022: Drake Cir – Fraud – Fraud report taken concerning an internet service scam; Cty 73/Highland Trl – Public Assist – Officer provided lights for a broken-down vehicle; 198th Ave – Security Alarm – Assisted Sherburne County on an alarm. No issues found; Rose Dr – Found Property – Call of a machete stuck in a tree next to a business. Machete was removed; Traverse Ln – Fraud – Party received a call from the “Wells Fargo Client Financial Enforcement Network”. The caller said they needed to verify their banking information; Fair Meadows Dr – Security Alarm – Officers responded and checked. No issues found; Minnesota Ave – Fraud – Pop-up notification on cell phone and computer said the caller was hacked and needed to call a phone number to setup anti-spy ware; Maple Ln – Juvenile Complaint – Officer asked to speak to a juvenile about pointing toy guns at people; Cty Rd 43 – Vandalism – Report taken of vandalism to private property; Edinburgh Way – Civil – Officer stoodby for property retrieval; 198th Ave – Fire Alarm – Officer arrived and confirmed there was no issue and fire department could cancel their response; 176th St/Minnesota Ave – Recovered Stolen Vehicle – Officers were on Hwy 10 checking on a report of a person walking on the road. A vehicle in the industrial park left a parking lot in an erratic manner. This caught the attention of an officer. Officers located the vehicle further into the industrial park, parked with lights off. Officer contacted the driver. The driver gave an explanation as to who owned the vehicle and why they had it. Officers worked to verify the information. An officer was approached by the vehicle owner who reported their vehicle stolen. The driver was arrested for theft of a motor vehicle and was booked into Sherburne Jail. Officers believe the suspect was the same as the person walking along Hwy 10; Hwy 10/172nd St – Check Welfare – Call to check a person walking along the highway.
Tues., July 5, 2022: Newcastle Bay – Misc Officer – Call to check grass clippings dumped near a pond; Edinburgh Way – Domestic – Officers investigated a family disturbance and property damage. Parties separated; Station St – Suspicious Activity – Party ran from a residential treatment facility. Officer assisted staff talk party into going back to facility; Crescent St – Civil – Call about money not being returned after work was canceled. Both parties were spoken with to mediate; Eagle Lk Rd S – Found Person – Call of a child walking in the street. Parent was on scene when officers arrived. Child was okay. Information gathered; Fern St – Theft – Theft report taken; Truman Dr – Suspicious Vehicle – Vehicle was left at location. Officer ran checks and attempted to contact owner. Vehicle will be cited if not moved over 72 hours; Manitou St – Theft – Theft report taken; Hwy 10/Lake St – Crash – Officer investigated a two-vehicle crash. Information gathered. Citation issued for a traffic violation.
Mon., July 4, 2022: 205th Ave – Agency Assist – Officers assisted a deputy on a check welfare call; City Wide – Fireworks Complaint – Officers dispatched to three fireworks complaints; Station St – Civil – Questions and documentation of harassment during a separation; Traverse Ln – Noise – Call for loud music from a residence. An officer checked and did hear the music; Hwy 10/Eagle Lk Rd – Agency Assist – Officers helped State Patrol with a crash in the intersection; Kilbirnie Rd – Check Welfare – Neighbor reported odd behavior and concern for safety. Officers investigated and found explanations for observations; Hwy 10 – Traffic Complaint – Report of a vehicle all over the road. An officer located the vehicle and it fled. A pursuit began and ended. Another pursuit began in Elk River with the vehicle. The vehicle went into a ditch off Hwy 10. The suspect ran from the car and was apprehended. The vehicle was found to be stolen and associated with a burglary; Taft St – Domestic – Officers mediated a family disturbance; Eagle Lk Rd S – Juvenile Complaint – Call for juvenile that snuck out of the house and not answering parent’s phone calls. Officers contacted juvenile who returned home. Discussed consequences of being reported as a runaway and receiving a citation.
